Michael Bailey had been a “husky” kid his whole life. At age 18, he hit 270 pounds, his heaviest weight ever. At his father’s urging, he started to finally do something about it. He went out for a half mile run at first, and gradually, after a few more, started to feel better about himself. He then ventured into the gym and started lifting light weights. He started cooking healthy foods for himself at home and cut out alcohol. In 2007, he started doing jiu jitsu and other MMA training and shed another 20 pounds, arriving at a lean 170.
Several years ago, Mike quit his customer service gig and got a job at his local gym. He then pursued a degree in exercise and wellness at Arizona State University. He is now an NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, a licensed massage therapist and a synapse nerve pathway therapist.
Mike has now been teaching group fitness for 8 years and coaching MMA for 3 years. We are very excited to welcome him to the ATTHD team!
